This session will explore creating architecture that fosters a sense of community within the building and that has the ability to make strong connections with its surrounding communities.
This presentation focusses on experiences creating innovative designs in both public and academic libraries.

Perceptions of the library by three groups of underrepresented library users:  (1) New Canadians (2) First Nations communities (3)First-generation college students.  In each instance, the presentation will highlight an aspect of the design process that was unique in creating the community based design; temporary display, as well as library resources that the groups found meaningful.
